”We used Mat's services for a second time to reinstate a Victorian fireplace in our bedroom. I'd started the job myself but when I removed the plaster I discovered a new lintel would be needed. He gave us a competitive quote and fitted us in at short notice to fit in with other DIY work we were doing at the time. Mat fitted a new lintel, removed the bricks blocking the opening and arranged for a plasterer to replaster the chimney breast. He even fitted the new fire surround for us (at no extra charge). The task comprised initial clearance of the rubble from the damaged cobble and brick wall and replacing it with a gravel board and concrete post fence. The work was completed within the allotted time and to an excellent standard. ”Rural and County Builders last week completed the re-pointing of the steps to the front entrance to Borrage Hall and the surrounding brickwork. They completed the work over a period of three days during which they pressure-washed paving slabs, ground out the old pointing and re-pointed the paving slabs and surrounding brickwork using a fast-drying cement. We found their work to be very efficient, well-organised and well-executed. The team works efficiently and tidily and speedily and is careful to leave the site clean and tidy. They also made a point of checking in with us when the work was done to ensure we were satisfied. They have previously also replaced a significant piece of fencing and concrete posts in a boundary wall which was also carried out speedily and efficiently. We would not hesitate to recommend Matt and his team for this kind of work and welcome them as an “approved contractor” for our Estate for the future.“
